Bought this unit to replace GCST20S1W1SS which died recently. It was a total piece of junk, so loud it would wake up the dead. Got it as a gift. This unit is MUCH quieter, very quiet in fact so that is good. Hope it lasts longer than the last one. Here's hoping.

There's a Trim Kit available

Just got this microwave today and it seems to be a good unit. The main reason for the review is to let all of you know that are looking for a trim kit for it, there's a kit for this Whirlpool microwave (WMC50522H) that works perfectly with this GE unit. I don't know the model number of the trim kit because it was around the Whirlpool unit that I replaced and I did not purchase it. I had a hunch since both units were 2.2 cu ft, the fit would be pretty close, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bottoms of these two microwave ovens were just about identical, down to the mounting screw hole placement and labeling. If you're looking for or needing a trim kit for this GE unit, just search for the trim kit for the Whirlpool listed above.

So far so good. I was fortunate to buy a radar range my Amana in 1984. It lasted until 2026. Internals still worked but got a crack on glass. Unk how. My new he works very well. Seems to re heat faster. The only things that remains to be seen is longevity. Will it last decade? Or years. Time will tell Amana cost $319 same price as GE

I love this microwave however it is so dark inside and the outside control panel you cannot see without the light on. You cannot see your food cooking and/or boiling etc. The amber light is very dim and does not help being on when the microwave is running.

Purchased this product due to the GE reputation however I was so dis satisfied. After further research over 90 per ent of reviews were false and misleading as the reviews were from ge family members and were given a free microwave for a great review not only is this ILLEGAL but I was mislead and sent a used microwave with missing glass spinning tray the astic rotator and the steam plastic also had signs of damage dented and water damaged. Yes I purchased from GE and new and I got garbage contacted GE they will replace it when they get the return however I still will not be happy it is nothing luke they advertised with the employee fake reviews. Dont purchase this model is is a cheaply design horrible looking with horrible features

The three biggest features this has are: (1) A handle to open the door with. The push button door openers always seem fickle, if not durable. (2) The unit's weight.and foot construction is such that the unit does not slide around on the counter top when you are pressiong buttons or opening an closing doors. I didn't have to juryrig something to keep this from moving around when opening the doors like I did on the push-button open models. (3) Further, in regards to the push button feature on the other units, they have now become ridiculous to use and enjoy. Microwave now come with "added Safety Features" to prevent children from doing whatever children have discovered to do with a microwave. We started with another brand that was on sale. However, that unit required pushing two buttons to open it. Anyone with arthritis or who are even a little challenged with coordination is NOT going to like that over-though "safety" feature. It was simply not well designed. This unit simply locks the door while under power and you have to push the open door button when reaching for the handle. It is really not an imposition. I like this design much better. I understand that ALL manufacuturers have had to move to a higher level of idiot proofing use of the appliance. Like comedian Ron Green says, "You can't fix stupid!" So in some regards writing a review within the first few days seems premature. However, I will say that I am impressed with the unit so far. Getting used to a few features will always be an issue, but this one seems have designed in practical, if not easy to use features. I like it.

Ordered this amazing smart microwave through BEST Buy and had to wait almost two weeks to receive it. Upon taking it out of the box, noticed the left side panel was flopping out. Plugged it up and it makes a horrific ratcheting noise when it locks and unlocks during operation. Immediately called Best Buy to pick it up and send a replacement. It was very quick to link to our Alexa devices, but just too much wrong with something I just took out of the box brand-new.

We love the size of it and the fact that it cooks and reheats things so fast. My daughter and I love the door lock feature and that you have to press the cancel button to unlock it to open the door. This feature is wonderful because of small children in the house at times. The power and wattage is amazing, it™€™s better than my last microwave. Also the heat snide dimensions are so much better than my old one. I™€™m so glad I made the decision to upgrade to this one.

Very sleek microwave2.2cuft. The last Ge microwave I replaced was from 1986. It only had one fuse blow until magnetron quit. The only reason I bought a new microwave is because I couldn™€™t find a replacement magnetron. I will miss the old microwave, it was so reliable.
