This microwave was purchased through home warranty as a replacement. My ge profile is no longer in production( very disappointed). This new one is very loud in comparison & only has half the presets. The worst part is the cook top light which is no brighter than a night light on its highest settings. When I called GE to see if that™€™s how it™€™s supposed to be they don™€™t know . No brighter bulbs are available for this model. I™€™m told I can™€™t return or exchange due to it being installed. Buyer beware

Disappointing Purchase

This microwave was supposedly a replacement for my old one. Very far from it!! My last one was slightly smaller inside but had a shelf, which made a world of difference!! The interior of my last one was white, as opposed to black. It™€™s difficult to see dirt in this one. VERY POOR REPLACEMENT!

Microwave was top rated in Consumer Reports. Only complaint was heating speed a bit slow. Wattage is a bit lower (1000) than our last microwave (1100). Following a few weeks of use, I™€™ve found the lower wattage beneficial. Foods that used to boil over no longer do™€¦no more scorched popcorn. Overall, it may take slightly longer to heat but performance is better. Also fan, venting inside, is more powerful.

This is a decent product. It does what it needs to do. Appears to heat consistently. Controls are easy to use. The surface lights are very dim, and ventilation is limited to recirculation. My major issue is that the glass plate and turning element become unseated often, causing a noise and tilting of the food.

The unit works well but has 2 weak points we™€™ve seen in the first week of use. First the buttons are rather difficult to push - you need to firmly push them for them to register (much harder than any other similar device I™€™ve used). Second is the dark interior makes it difficult to see the food while it™€™s heating/cooking and hard to see if it needs cleaning after use.

This microwave is of poor quality compare to my previous microwave. It is made of very lightweight material. When you close the door you can tell how cheaply it is made. It does not have a few of the features I need and used with my other unit. The under the range light gets so hot it heats up the entire inside of the microwave and is hit to touch.

Have had some issues with the keypad over the last few months and just hit the 1 year warranty deadline. Would not have expected to have such issues with a fairly pricy product. Thought GE would be a good brand and last a long time. We have replaced GE microwave 3 times over past several years to match existing appliances. It seems each time they have a shorter life span. Would have thought they would be made better over time and not worse. Price went up, but quality went down. Each time we also had to drill new holes in order to install since template changed each time. Seriously considering alternate brand going forward.

We have our vent going outside. It™€™s not sucking much steam or anything. Something I don™€™t understand. Also, I have to change filters often. I don™€™t know size of filter either. It has screws and I hate climbing up and unscrewing etc.

The product functions as expected. I like the function to cook something 2, 3. 4 etc minutes by pushing one button. The recirculating fan is pretty worthless since it won't even remove steam from boiling pots on the stove. even when it's on the highest setting.
