Frustrating. Wont cool if its cool outside

The thermostat must blend outside air to determine whether or not to turn on the compressor. If the room is too warm but outside is cool the compressor wont turn on unless you crank the cooling way down. If its warm inside and outside the system will run the compressor non-stop eventually the room gets very very cold... but the system is oblivious and the compressor keeps running. Essentially this thing has no idea what the temperature is inside the room its trying to cool. Its does a good job cooling but we have to constantly spin the cooling knob to keep it working properly.

It came with NO SCREWS..AND RIGHT SIDE ACCORDIAN SLIDE WAS NOT ATTACHED TO PLASTIC FRAME ANYMORE.I wanted to return itbut our central air went downfamily wanted a/c in room. I had to steal screws from other a/c just to partially assemblethen use ties off bread bag to attach accordianand lots of duct tape.I reached out to companyonly response was send us a copy to our e mail of your reciept.I dont have scannerand dont use my phone other than call.i had filled out warranty info on site..guess that wasnt good enough...would never buy thisor any product from this manufacturer

Several years ago we began replacing all of our old window air conditioners. I looked around and did some comparisons and chose the 5000 btu LG because the price was reasonable and I hoped it would be of the same quality as other LG appliances we have. I have not been disappointed. I now have four of these units purchased over the last six years and all of them have provided reliable and constant summertime service. The controls are very simple and easy to use which is becoming a rarity in appliances these days. Light enough for one senior to install easily. When I opened box discovered drain fitting was not included. Contacted LG who sent a fitting but it was defective locking tabs all broke off when attempting to install to unit. Then tried gluing it on which didnt work either...Really want to put a drain tube on unit so that water doesnt puddle under unit where my dog can reach water. Unit is quiet when running is maintaining 70 in my insulated shed while outside temps are in upper 90s. Also need to know expected life of unit running in these condition for 5 months per year.
